General Data Protection Regulation
The GDPR is a piece of EU-wide legislation which will determine how people's personal data is processed and kept safe and the legal rights individuals have in relation to their own data. As public organisations, schools are required to comply.
At Cockernhoe Endowed CofE Primary School, we have:
- Received training regarding GDPR
- Made everyone in school aware of GDPR including governors and appointed a DPO
- Written an action plan.
- Begun reviewing all of our data and documents.
We highly value and protect all of our student, parents and staff data and will continue to do so in the presence of GDPR.
To find out more about GDPR at school, please click on the documents below:
The school's Data Protection Officer is Ajay Sule, Chair of Governors. The email address for the DPO is dpo@cockernhoe.herts.sch.uk.
This email address is not monitored daily, so for urgent concerns, it is best to contact the school office.
Requesting access to your personal data
Under data protection legislation, parents / carers have the right to request access to information about them that we hold (“Subject Access Request”). To make a request for your child’s personal data, or be given access to your child’s educational record, contact Mrs Bankes at the school office – admin@cockernhoe.herts.sch.uk, although any written request for personal data will be treated as a Subject Access Request.
